Daqiao Mountain, a part of the Enshi Grand Canyon, is characterized by karst topography with distinctive shaped rocks. It consists of a square-shaped mountain and two slender limestone pillars. All three have undergone fracturing from early crustal movements, followed by weathering, erosion, dissolution, and gravitational collapse, eventually separating from the main mountain range. The overall shape resembles the Chinese character for ‘river’, hence its name. It is open all year round and accessible 24/7.
