Grand Musical Drama ‘Dragon Boat Tune’ at Enshi Grand Canyon

The grand landscape musical drama ‘Dragon Boat Tune’ is set against the backdrop of the Enshi Grand Canyon, known as the ‘Oriental Colorado of the World’s Geological Wonders’, showcasing its majestic and breathtaking scenery. Drawing from the Enshi Tujia ethnic culture, the drama is woven throughout with the song ‘Dragon Boat Tune’, making it the first landscape performance in Hubei and the largest canyon landscape musical drama in the country.


With a total investment of over 500 million yuan, the theater occupies 240 acres and has a total construction area of 49,000 square meters, employing over 500 performers and staff. The features of the show include: ① The largest canyon backdrop in China, the Enshi Grand Canyon spans 108 kilometers and covers an area of over 300 square kilometers, the largest in the country; ② A collection of Tujia folk culture, including ‘Tujia Daughter’s Meeting’, ‘Meat Resonance’, ‘Hand Dance’, ‘Nuo Opera’, and ‘Puppet Stilts Dance’, all integrated into the plot and throughout the performance; ③ Extensive use of modern stage technology, with the theater employing the largest environmental art lighting project and unique mechanical lifting effect project in China.


At the climax of the play, a series of earth-shattering ‘love hurricanes’ such as ‘mountain collapse’, ‘earth crack’, and ‘river outpour’ create emotional detonation points, combining the canyon’s iconic landscapes and historical sites of Enshi Prefecture at key moments in the story and character development, moving the audience to tears and laughter.
