Jianghan Bridge: A Historic Landmark in Wuhan, Hubei

Jianghan Bridge, also known as ‘Jianghan First Bridge’, is located in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. It is the second bridge over the Han River, following the railway bridge. The bridge connects Hanzheng Street in Hankou to the Guqin Terrace in Hanyang. This steel truss arch bridge features eight piers and seven spans, with a total length of 322.37 meters. It accommodates six lanes of traffic in both directions, with slow lanes and auxiliary bridges on both sides. Construction began in 1954, and it was officially opened to traffic in January 1956. As a part of Wuhan’s inner ring road, the bridge, along with the Yangtze River Bridge and the Second Bridge, forms an integral part of the city’s inner ring road system. The bridge is open all year round, with full-day accessibility.
