Lou Men Shi Lang is a typical Karst stone bud (forest) landscape, formed by the weathering and dissolution of Triassic limestone (203-250 million years ago). The overall appearance resembles thousands of stone books, hence the name. The stone buds vary in height, are disorderly arranged, and have diverse shapes, resembling waves and islands, with some rising and others falling. Stone buds are a common type of karst landscape on gentle rock layer slopes in karst areas. They are formed by the dissolution of carbonate rocks along surface water along fissures, creating ridges or ridge-like rock bodies between the grooves. The area is open all year round, 24/7, with specific business hours subject to daily opening conditions.
